One of the best ways to visit Budapest is on a European river cruise (which happens to be one of my specialties!). However, if you’re a fan of winter sports and outdoor activities, you may want to visit during the winter months when the city is blanketed in snow and ice-skating rinks pop up around town.

Visit in fall or winter if seeing the northern lights is high on your travel “life list”.
